Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Proto Nova website, API, account system, downloads, and related online services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Lagrange Studios ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to agree to these Terms. If local law requires parental consent, you may use the Service only with that consent. You must provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and notify us if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity performed through your account.

2. Google and Patreon connections

You may choose to sign in with Google or connect a Patreon account. Your use of those services remains subject to their own terms and policies. Connecting Patreon allows Proto Nova to recognize an active Lagrange Studios membership and display the corresponding badge and visual theme. Connecting an account authorizes Proto Nova to access only the information shown during the provider's consent flow. You may revoke access through the provider and, where available, through Proto Nova Settings.

3. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to break the law; harass, threaten, exploit, or impersonate others; distribute malware; interfere with or bypass security or rate limits; gain unauthorized access; scrape or overload the Service; submit deceptive server listings; infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights; or distribute unlawful, abusive, or harmful material.

4. User submissions and server listings

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, format, and display that content solely as needed to operate and promote the Service. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit it. We may review, reject, remove, or disable content or server listings that violate these Terms or create risk for users or the Service.

5. Proto Nova materials

The Service, including its software, graphics, branding, and original content, is owned by Lagrange Studios or its licensors and is protected by applicable law. Except for permissions expressly provided with a download or open-source component, you may not copy, sell, reverse engineer, or redistribute Proto Nova materials without permission.

6. Third-party services and links

The Service may link to or interoperate with Google, Patreon, Discord, community servers, downloads, and other third-party services. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, or practices. Patreon memberships and payments are transactions with Patreon and are governed by Patreon's terms.

7. Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service, including experimental features, at any time. We do not promise that the Service will always be available, error-free, compatible with every device, or that user-submitted servers will remain online.

8. Enforcement and termination

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access when we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated, the Service or another person is at risk, or the law requires it. You may stop using the Service at any time and may use the available account-deactivation process.

9. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and warranties arising from course of dealing. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lagrange Studios and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or access arising from the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the amount you paid directly to us for the Service during the twelve months before the claim, or USD $100 if greater.

11. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify Lagrange Studios and its contributors against claims arising from your unlawful use of the Service, your submissions, or your material violation of these Terms.

12. General terms

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our permission. Applicable law and courts with lawful jurisdiction govern disputes, without overriding mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.

13. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms. Continued use after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. Material changes may be communicated through the Service.
